For emergency telephone trading, dial 1-212-563-5151 or 1-212-563-6454 with your username and password. Please keep the following rules of telephone trading etiquette in mind:
You are calling the dealing desk:
My name is (Trader's Name), account ID number XXXX and my password XXXX.
Example: Trader; "Hi, My name is Joe Smith, account number 5029 and password - joe. Please give me a price on dollar/yen for 3 lots."
The dealer will respond with a 2-way price quote.
Example: Dealer; "105.10-15"
This means that you may buy dollar/yen at 105.15 or sell it at 105.10.
To buy it, you can say any of the following: "15", "I buy", "I buy at 15", "mine", or "mine at 15".
To sell it, you can say any of the following: "10", "I sell", "I sell at 10", "yours", or "yours at 10".
Example: Trader; "I buy at 15."
You would normally have 3-5 seconds to respond prior to a price change,
depending on market volatility. If no response is given and the price
changes, the dealer will say "change," "price change," "off," or "your
risk," in which case you may ask for the updated price.
If you do respond with a buy or sell order, the dealer will say
"done" or otherwise indicate that your trade has been executed. You may
then set a stop-loss and/or a limit on your order.
Example: Dealer; "Done"
Trader: "Place a stop-loss at 104.80 and a limit at 106.00"
Dealer: "Got it." (The dealer will then hang up)
*Please note, however, that orders placed via telephone will not
show up on the system immediately because they must be entered manually
by the CMS staff. It may therefore not appear on your system for
several minutes.
